I'm looking at pedals for a new cross bike I am buying (Felt F1X), and I'm leaning toward Crank Brothers. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the relative merits of the Eggbeater vs. the Candy model.
The Candy really just seems like the Eggbeater with a plastic frame around it. What's the benefit? Better power transfer? Doesn't that make them harder to clip into?
If it makes a difference, in addition to racing this bike in the fall I am also contemplating making it my main road bike as well (with a second set of wheels), so I will also be using these same pedals with my road shoes (equipped with an adapter that allows the use of a two-hole cleat, of course).
