hello,

As I am building a second bike I wish to get it equipped with pedals that would allow me to use my shimano shoes that I use with my "old" bike.My old bike ,A TST with ultegra triple, has shimano 6500 ultegra pedals and consequently my shoes have the shimano cleats...are they called SPD cleats by any chance? Of course I could just buy another 6500 or 6600 ultegras pedals for my newer frame but I wonder if there aren't some out there as good but a bit cheaper priced?Remember I am looking initially to use,if feasible, the same shoes..I am listening to suggestions here.
Am I the only one to think the world of pedals/cleats could have been more "standardized`"!
thanks,Ron.

Just get the shimano pedals. You will get a extra pair of cleats and a pedal that fits perfectly. There is not any reason to cut corners here and get something that will only wear your cleats out faster or could cause you injury.
