So Ive been using Picasa for a couple months now, and seem to be having some issues posting pics. They will show up in posts no problem sometimes, and other times they just dissapear.

I've tried using the link address picasa gives you in the view albums page, as well as right click--> copy image location, and it just seems flakey. Is this an issue with picasa in general, or RBR or am I just an idjut?

would it work better if I was posting pics of beets or corgis?

....................FML

Can't see it.

Can you post the URL for the image, without any IMG tags?

Im seeing the picture again, in the post where I tried the second time. It worked, and then dissapeared, and now i can see it again.

Weird. The first time I clicked the first link, it brought me to an Error 404 page (page not found). Then I clicked the second link (which is to a page, not a picture), and that worked. Then I clicked the first link again and it brought me to the picture. WTF?

I also didn't see your bacon picture in your earlier post, but see it now.

I've also noticed that Picassa has a weird URL scheme. When I remove the /IMG_0020.JPG from the end of the first link, I still get to your picture. So maybe that's some kind of dynamic link that only works once you've opened the page.

Does Picassa offer any other way to direct-link to your images? Smugmug does.

I have Picasa also and I really like it for viewing photos on my laptop.

Haven't attempted to use their image tag services yet. I've been considering Smugmug as well.

I've been using picasa for a while now and can't say I've had issues, but then I'm not right clicking on them. I use the link to tool on the right tool bar.
right click:

or tool

Sorry, no bacon, just a kid in a hat.

make sure the gallery is open to public view.

this is what i do. from the picasa gallery:
1) click the image you want to post. the image will open on the page
2) on the right side of the page, click Link To This Photo. Two textboxes and a dropdown will appear
3) Select Size of the display
4) copy the Embed Image code
5) navigate to the worlds greatest website (the lounge on rBr)
6) click to start a new thread
7) create an ambiguous Title
8) formulate an interesting Message. be sure to end with a double entendre or euphamism. alternately, make fun of gutfiddle, s2h, JD, or make a pass at paint/andrea/von/mb1
9) paste the code you copied from Picasa into the Message
10) Submit the New Thread
11) sit back and bask in the gloriousness of your post.
12) compulsively check your thread to see if anyone has viewed/replied to it
13) wait for the BEETS to roll in

for all you vegans out there:
