Well, I'm going to be in town this weekend for the annual alumni gathering at the University of Portland. Arriving late Thursday and staying at the campus (since the dorm rooms are cheap to rent).

Evenings for Friday and Saturday will be taken up with reunion activities. But Thursday night, I currently don't have any real plans laid. Thinking about heading down to the Widmer Brothers Gasthas Pub for dinner. And possibly stopping by the Beaterville Cafe for breakfast on Friday morning. Followed by riding around downtown, doing some shopping at the local bike shops, stopping at Voodoo Doughnut, and likely grabbing lunch at the Lucky Labrador Brew Pub on Hawthorne. On Saturday, I plan to ride out to Sauvie Island, so I may hook up with the Columbia swim ride to meet people.

With the exception of reunion activities, plans are subject to change. But if any of the Portland area crew want to hook up for a meet and greet let me know. Or if you happen to see me while out and about, stop and say 'hi'. I'm taking my blue Surly LHT, with purple panniers, and have white Lounge and Team Collin stickers on the top tube.

Well, I was able to stick basically to my plans. Friday visited CyclePath, REI and Clever Cycles. Also went by Splendid Cycles, but they were closed. Had a bacon, maple bar at Voodoo Doughnuts, a tuna melt at the Lucky Lab brew pub and stopped at the Organic Brewers festival in Overlook Park. Ended up buying some Soma tire levers, a Pletscher double kickstand, and a Dutch frame lock for my Surly LHT.

On Saturday, rode out, and around on, Sauvie Island. Talked with families picking berries at U-pick berry farms, saw an Osprey nest, and could hear the chicks chirping. Also stopped at Kruger's farm and visited with the lady from the mobile brew pub. Discovered that while riding across the St. John's bridge, I get a touch acrophobic, but can handle walking my bike over it (when coming back). Guess the motion of the bridge, combined with traffic vibrations were transmitted through the bike frame just right to make me a bit queasy.

Once I get all the photos sorted out, I'll post a ride report.:D
