It doesn't sound like many people in Wisconsin grow up riding bicycles anymore, or the cops are older than dirt. They should ride a little for their crash course on laws and safety.

Nice to see a news report on raising bike law awareness.

The snow plow passing was very scary. That could have gone very wrong.

I, unfortunately, have to comm mute on roads like that. There's no alternative route that I could take. Unlike the cyclist in the video, I will not ride close to the edge/shoulder of the road when there is oncoming traffic. If I see traffic approaching behind me, and traffic approaching in the opposite lane, and I determine that it's unsafe for the cars behind me to pass, I will pull out and take the whole lane. I'll ride in the left tire track until opposing traffic has abated enough so it's safe for vehicles behind me to pass. Riding to the far right, like the cyclist in the video, is an invitation to pass.

All that being said, it's a good video because it shows how some drivers act toward cyclists, and also raises awareness of the problem and the laws.

They need to send that city prosecutor to bike school, too.
