Ive just freed a stuck seatpost using the miracle of ammonia. This got me to wondering is there a way to prevent this. I've read grease doesn't stop the oxidation process, only retards it. Of course one could periodically pull the component and steel wool off any build up. This does not account for two things. One: the inside of the frame that partners with the component and two: damage. I have a Nitto Pearl stem on one of my bikes that I am not anxious to rub with any abrasive. Is there a product that unabrasively kills oxidation or prevents it?
