It's only an 8 minute stage but it's a good data point. With two 52+ km ITTs coming up, you can learn some from the performances today.

1 Thor Hushovd (Nor) Crédit Agricole 8.17.00 (51.43 km/h)
2 George Hincapie (USA) Discovery Channel 0.00.73
3 David Zabriskie (USA) Team CSC 0.04.21
4 Sebastian Lang (Ger) Gerolsteiner 0.04.80
5 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne-Illes Balears 0.04.92
6 Stuart O'Grady (Aus) Team CSC 0.04.93
7 Michael Rogers (Aus) T-Mobile 0.06.30
8 Paolo Savoldelli (Ita) Discovery Channel 0.08.02
9 Floyd Landis (USA) Phonak 0.09.26
10 Vladimir Karpets (Rus) Caisse d'Epargne-Illes Balears 0.10.09

Hincapie is the surprise of the day. He lost a 57 seconds to Zabriske last year. His ITTing is good. His fate lies in his climbing. Dave Z needs to learn how to handle a bike.
Landis was tardy but his form is good.

12 Tom Boonen (Bel) Quick-Step-Innergetic 0.11.21
Boonen is awesome. He will fight Thor for yellow.

17 David Millar (GBr) Saunier Duval 0.14.65
Lost a step.

24 Andreas Klöden (Ger) T-Mobile 0.17.41
As the t-mobile leader, this is no good

29 Bobby Julich (USA) Team CSC 0.18.84
As the possible leader for CSC, Julich seems cooked already

36 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Gerolsteiner 0.21.60
Levi is too small to ITT. He'll lose minutes in the long ITTs.

53 Gilberto Simoni (Ita) Saunier Duval 0.25.80

56 Denis Menchov (Rus) Rabobank 0.26.19
For a Vuelta winner, he's in a spot of bother

80 José Rujano (Ven) Quick-Step-Innergetic 0.31.32
Way tooo small.

87 Iban Mayo (Spa) Euskaltel-Euskadi 0.32.92
Still can't TT

95 Michael Boogerd (Ned) Rabobank 0.34.52
No wheel to suck:D

126 Damiano Cunego (Ita) Lampre-Fondital 0.41.44

141 Georg Totschnig (Aut) Gerolsteiner 0.43.90
Co-leader of Gerolsteiner according to the DS??? He sucks!

158 Michael Rasmussen (Den) Rabobank 0.48.32
What in the world???

It will be interesting to see what Disco does tomorrow. There are three intermediate sprints, and if Hincapie scores points in any of them and Hushovd doesn't, George gets the yellow jersey. I hope Disco goes on the offensive and scrapes and claws their way into yellow, even for one day. George deserves it.
Good call. How many seconds are the sprints worth? Is there time gain for the finish line sprint?
