I was tooling around Provincetown, MA the other day, and I noticed that some (but, unfortunately, not all), of the Province Lands bike paths have been nicely repaved with black-ribbon tarmac. It makes for a fun, relaxing, and very smooth little jaunt around the dunes. the repaved sections start at Herring Beach, and then end as you approach the Airport.

For those who don't know, the paths have been afflicted with significant fissures caused by the dunes shifting and root growth. It made them almost unrideable (particularly on a road bike). The new paving makes it like a Disney World ride for cyclists. Pretty fun. Go early to avoid any other riders.

Anyways, here's a nice little description of them. Linky
