I am converting a drop bar road bike to flat bar, so I am looking for inexpensive brake levers that will work with road calipers.

I was looking at the Tiagra BL-4700 levers. It is a road group so I assumed they work with road calipers.

However, I am a little hesitant due to the claim that they are compatible with V-Brakes AND road calipers (and road disc brakes). How can it work well with both? They have different pull ratios.

Do the levers have some sort of pull-ratio adjustment? Or is the pull just somewhere in between the two brake types (and sucks at both)?

Thanks.

Not sure, but the product description on Amazon says "adjustable lever reach and transmission ratio." Some other sellers say adjustable "pull ratio," so I guess that's the deal. Shimano could have been a little more informative on their website.
