Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced the squad which will take part in the first edition of the Tour of Beijing, the brief stage race which has been added to the World Tour calendar this year.

"The race route contains two fractions that are suited to sprinters, two challenging stages that will give a definite shape to the race, and a time trial which will definitely be atypical, considering that, due to logistic reasons that have to do with air transport, on the 13.5 kilometres of the course the riders will not be using time trial - specific bikes," explains the manager of transfers, Sports Director Davide Bramati. "Overall the race will take place on a balanced route which will touch on some very particular locations. For the riders and supporting personnel it will definitely be a new and unusual experience. Our squad is competitive and contains athletes capable of leaving their mark, both in the stages suited to sprinters and the more complicated stages. It's a young team, but this is also why they are eager to show their worth in one of the last races of the season."

The team will leave for China from Paris on September 30th.
