RBR TdF 2021 Predictions! Post by Start Time 2021!

Hello, everyone. Since we are all so smart about road racing, let's show it off: post your predictions before start time for the 2021 Tour de France. Talk is cheap. Can you call it a month before the final stage? A year? -RBR tradition since 2006.

At the end of the 2020 TdF, I will review how well we did. Historically, we have been pretty lousy, with some moments of brilliance. Bon chance!

Call first, or try first, second, or third-

Start time is June 26, 10:30AM CET (Central Europe Time, which I believe is 4:30AM Eastern Time, USA).

This time around: no Egan Bernal, no Adam Yates.

Pogacar and his team will definitely have to shoulder more responsibility but I think he's strong enough to cover any other front-runners.
It's gonna be fun watching who the last man standing on Ineos is going to be, there should be a bet for that in itself.
The big question mark, at least in my eyes, is Roglic and his hermit training, hope it works out for him...Other notables are Uran, Landa, and Gaudu.

Cavendish? You don't really mean Cav... Oh wait! Cav to return to TdF!

Valverde likely will either DNF due to leaving early for the Olympics or get a GC top 10.

Preditions! How did we do? It is easy to be armchair quarterback and say you knew it all along, after the fact. Several years ago, I began the Predictions thread to see how well we here at RBR Forums might be able to predict TdF outcomes, seeing as how we all think we know so much.

Well, we did OK this time around. Maybe a C, C-

Did anyone pick the overall winner?
Yes! upstateSC-rider and aclinjury

Plus, aclinjury got Pogacr in first, and Carapaz in third place. Well done!

Who got Pogacar on the podium, but in wrong place:
KoroninK

No one else got valid podium guesses.

Did anyone guess Green correctly? No.

Did anyone get Polka Dot correctly? No.

Did anyone get White correctly? KoroninK, Pjay.

Did anyone get Team correctly? no.

Honorable Mention:

upstateSC-rider: "It's gonna be fun watching who the last man standing on Ineos is going to be, there should be a bet for that in itself."

PJay: "Lanterne Rouge: cavendish."

Well, there's always next year!

Have to give Cavendish credit, I wasn't expecting any stage wins at all from him.
Van Aert is a great talent, and had a great showing, but I find it more exciting watching him (and MVdP) in one-day races.
Pogacar needs more competition but not sure there's a current racer that can provide it, maybe an in-form Bernal?

I'd love to see Roglic win the tdf but time is not doing him any favors and he needs to end that hermit training and get some racing days in his legs IMHO.
Maybe Ineos can send Bernal/Pidcock/Martinez/Ganna to La Vuelta and book-end their season with good showings but Porte and Thomas will have to earn remaining spots, no gifts.

When the Gorilla is regularly finishing in the top ten of sprints (including a 5,6,7 and 8), there really wasn't much competition in the way of speed. No disrespect to Griepel, but he's now 38 and retired.
