I'm rebuilding a set of 32h King hubs, with new Mavic CXP33 rims. Would I see any advantage in performance from using the ultra-expensive Sapim CX-ray spokes, compared to the DT revolution or wheelsmith XL14 ? I want to build them to high tension to have little flex.

Everything I read says that Sapim are the best, but at the same time 32h wheels are no trouble so maybe they would be overkill. I'm 170-180lbs.

Thanks!

If you are concerned about flex, why are use ultra thin spokes like these? Don't forget that the CXRays are the equivalent of 1.5mm round spokes in cross sectional area.

I'd use DT Swiss Competition (1.8mm) and be done with it.

+1 for the DT Comps. I am using them on the back wheel of my Edge 2.45/Alchemy ORC wheel. They are very stiff and make a very stiff wheel.
