I have some HED Ardennes + disc wheels where I'd like to remove the decals. It seems like instead of being a single decal it's more of a 'stencil'. I tried scratching it off by hand but didn't get anywhere. Is there anything I can use to remove them without messing up the finishing on the rim?

They're water transfer decals under clear coat. You could try dabbing furniture stripper on it to soften the clear coat, after which water should dissolve the decal. But I'd test it on an old rim before, as some furniture strippers would be more than capable of etching anodizing.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have a spare rim with a similar finishing though.
