<table width="700" border="0"><tr><td>Took the Soma out for some eazy pedaling this evening. Went to the Pier, had some tacos and a corndog (great combination!), then took some more pics and headed home. Great way to end the weekend.

(Sorry, no bike shots. But I promise I was on the bike. Really.)

The pedestrian bridge crossing over PCH and connecting mainland Santa Monica with the beach.

Waaaaay back in the day this was one of two McDonalds, about a half-mile apart from each other.

Under the pier.

Um ….

You might recognize this from the movie Fletch.

What, you thought I’d forget?

The aquarium at dusk.

The carousel at twilight.

The pedestrian tunnel crossing under PCH and connecting mainland Santa Monica Canyon with Will Rogers State Beach.

After stopping at my folks’ house to play with the puppy, I took the long way home.

I like how you avoided taking any pics with a reflective surface so that you wouldn't show up in the reflection with/without your bike in question.

Quality pics as usual, very nice stuff, lots of emotion or mood in them.

Hmm. I'm sensing some doubt here. I could poast a crappy pic of some trees illuminated by my Light & Motion. Would that convince you?

Back in the early 1990s, I had a 12th floor corner office in that white building in your first shot. It's only a 21-story building, so you can probably see it in your shot. It was on corner you are looking at, overlooking Palisades and beyond. It was amazing, especially at sunset. Saw a lot of strange and crazy things on the beach below.

Thanks Treebound and Pablo.

Mohair: For years my mom worked in the Palisades building two doors down. I used to go to Cafe Casino all the time when I was stuck spending the day at her office.

In the years I worked there, I never once ate at the Cafe Casino. Spent most of my time on Third Street, with occasional forays to more distance places. Spent a lot of time at a place called Teasers, where we knew practically everyone who worked there. I think it's still there.

By the way, the matching shack for that former McDonalds is Perry's Pizza. We used to play beach volleyball on the courts right there every thursday night and often on saturdays. The daughter of the family that owned Perry's is Misty May, currently one of the top beach volleyball players in the world, and with her partner, Kerri Walsh, an Olympic gold medalist.

As usual, I love your pics. But, after all of Gutfiddles beach always = bikinis I'm a little disappointed with your beach shots :).

roflz ..... I was on my bike so only had a wide lens and a medium-range lens. I left my 80-200mm at home. Getting booty shots at close range = daredevil.
