Yeah, sad. Also, it makes me think about my own riding habits. The article says it was a narrow mountain road so maybe he cut a corner or maybe the driver did or maybe they both contributed to the accident. Who knows. Still, it gives me pause.

The weather's turning foul so ride careful out there.

I couldn't believe the headline when I saw it. The dude was tough as nails. I had the pleasure of seeing him en route to his 3rd RAAM win in 2005. I took the day off and drove about 75 miles for a chance to cheer him on. This was about two miles before TS 44 in Laurelville Ohio, and was a typical summer day, hot and really humid.

When he went by and heard me cheering, he looked over and was like a zombie. No emotion, no nothing. Just an engine on the bike. I remember reading later that at TS 44 he had to be talked on the bike because he was done, but he eventually was convinced and made it.

RIP Robic. It would be pretty cool if Baloh raced in 2011 and won. I'm sure Robic will be on his mind.
