They were chatting about road trains during the cricket the other night.
(The South African special comments guy was interested)
Apparently the wind vortexes can be pretty scary.
Glad I don’t have to deal with them!

From a quick Google...

Triple and AB-Quad road trains- 53.5 m (180 ft) max.

Speed limit 100km/h (60mph) except 90km in some states.

If a tri-drive prime mover is utilised, along with tri-axle dollys, weights can reach nearly 170 t (375,000 lb).

Did a youtube search and found this vid. Never heard of them before. And I thought buses were bad; these things might suck you under.

I've seen the road trains on TV shows or the occasional movie but I never thought about what it'd be like to be on the road when one passes.

I saw those on some TV show. Triples are legal in some states here in the U.S as well. I know they are legal in Utah and Colorado. Definitely illegal in California!

I lived in the Australian outback for 15 months and occasionally a road train would pass by on the dirt road. The dust would stay in the air for what seemed like days.
