Hi, some say those wheels are the same except the hubs, a friend of mine told me the rims were not the same. Do you have some info on that?
Thanks

might be similar construction, but they're not identical to the DA rims.

Not the same but similar. The RS80/81's are heavier and cheaper. They are an incredible value. Maybe the best deal out there. If you have the money though and ride a good deal I'd go Dura Ace. The RS81's would be my choice for training wheels if on a budget.

have owned both the 7900 and 9000 DA wheels.

both are excellent and not that expensive.

I just googled and found a site selling each replacement rim and the 9000 rims cost quite a bit more. So that would seem to indicate there's a difference other than graphics. People are willing to pay for graphics though so maybe not. To bad the site didn't list weight because that would have told us for sure if they were different or the same.

I always thought they were the same rim but that was just based on hearsay.

Shimano has always seemed pretty protective of their DA-branded parts.

Dura Ace gets you lighter, better finished, nicer functioning pieces.

can't imagine they'd offer DA rims with an Ultegra label...
