[El Caballito]

I've got an annoying problem. When I'm pedaling I could hear a soft "clicking" sound coming from the cranks. When I turn the cranks backwards (freewheel) with my hand, I hear a "rumbling" sound. Could it be a bottom bracket issue? FYI- cranks are shimano compact
