My new (well used) slr xp came today. After drooling for a few minutes, I threw it on my bike. Before doing so, I noticed it is way smaller than my current saddle (bontrager race lux). Should I adjust my seatpost height to make up this difference? If so should I measure out the difference and do a straight change, or raise it roughly the same amount and feel it out? Thanks for your help.

Yes, not all saddles are identical height, adjust post accordingly. I use the old eyeball adjustment, take allen key with me and go for a ride, dial it in etc.
Yeah, thats the way I usually do it. When I changed from my SI "turbomatic 3" to a Brooks "Team Pro" I had all kinds of dialing in issues, including having to change out the seatpost to get enough setback. It was aggravating, but worth it in the long run,
