I have some small but annoying scratches on one of my new ultegra shifters. Any suggestions on how to get those out?
Grant Petersen at Rivendell put the worry about bike scratches to rest for all time with this quote
"It's a piece of outdoor equipment. It's going to get scratched."

At least, periodically applying "Pledge" furniture polish, or paste wax, or auto wax will keep the aluminum scratches from oxiding and turning "white".

Don't apply a metal polish (eg, Meguiars or Mothers) as it will wear through the clear coat or anodization coating.

I've got a few small scratches on various shiny aluminum components, and "Pledge" has kept them looking good and the scratches are un-noticeable.
