Did anyone else find something amiss with the organization of the Sea Otter this year? The information booth staff seemed completely uninformed. No one could tell me where to go to start the road race, whether there would be food or wheel support, or where would be a good place for spectators to watch. Also, there was a major logistical issue with getting around. It seemed that the organizers expected folks to take their bikes everywhere, but that necessitated going through narrow walkways and up and down stairs. Mountain bikers were constantly zipping down these stairs, nearly taking me out as I was slipping around on my road shoes.
Overall, the race itself was a blast, the bike porn was top notch, and I can't wait to do it again next year. However, it seems that there were a few details missing that would have made the whole experience much less stressful. Did anyone else have problems?
