Nine intrepid riders showed up in Issaquah today for a little social ride. First clue that the ride would be a bit sporty was the warm up above my usual speedy pace.

I have no idea how to post the picture of Chili with his microbrewery float from my phone.

Argent no showed with "too much pavement."

Ryan was too busy catching and releasing 650b bikes to show up

There wasn't enough H&B for my tastes. I would have been a lot stronger with those two at my back.
Otherwise it was an enjoyable ride. A bit long for me right now since I haven't done much other than track racing this year. It was a good bunch of hooligans that came out. It was just a touch faster then I thought that it would be too. It was supposed to be a social ride but we just decided to just hammer it and regroup at the top of climbs.
Of course the food and beer afterwords was good. We all exchanged stories and a classic lines of "Dude, you need to learn to spell" and "Old and fat --- F0ck you" came up.

Ok, I can deduct that JP, Chili and Waldo were all there. Who else showed? Or do we have to wait 6 months for Waldo to get his film developed and scanned? :p :D :)

Edit: Looks like Fordy was there too.

I still have undeveloped pictures from that. I have a metric ass ton of a back log right now with multiple clients waiting.

No cameras on my end for this ride though.

Actually it was "Old and fat - my ass!"

Good times were had by all, I hope. I'll be posting another PNW/Lownje ride in Septmeber.

Maybe this ride will be social? I doubt it. Especially if Mr old and fat shows up.

I fail.

I can't believe I missed this ride. I'm up here visiting my sister (again) from Sandy Eggo and I didn't bring my bike.

What happened to the sun?

more piccies

We were going too fast to take a lot of pixors, but here's the couple I did manage to snap:

At the top of the Issaquah plateau. I am desperately trying to simulate my avatar pic. JP and Waldo called each other before the ride to coordinate jersey and sunglas colors.

What awesome photo-graphical skills I have

Coffee stop in Carnation. MonkeyBullit is actively trying to prove that sitting on a carbon top tube does not cause an instantaneous explosion.
Yes, those are awesome deals on used vacuum cleaners. But my jersey pockets were already full, so I had no way to transport.

Fordy is a cycling juggernaut. He is being wowed by JP's stories of Ranndoneur wonderment.

And, just for fun, here's Argentius back on our 2007 PNWRBR ride, back when he was young and still had symetrical eyebrows:

Ah, I stand corrected sir.

I had a good time. It is good to know that our social rides are faster in the PNW. My regular Tuesday night shop ride is supposed to be social but the pace always gets kicked up by a few people.

Tentatively it should be social. We we go from there and see what happens.
Maybe next summer we can get a bunch of people together that want to go fast and have a semi regular training ride. I don't go on nearly enough group rides and I know that Ill whatever I can get next season.
