Is it true that their bikes do not have a high resale value? How much should I buy/sell a used (current Serotta carbon) frame for?

First define high.

The bike you're asking about, need an awful lot more info; year/model/stock/custom/size/with or without components/buying/selling/etc.

yeah, define high.

But in general, I'd say Serotta (and many high end botiques) hold their value better than those of the Specialized, Trek, Cannondale, Cervelo. I see a lot of Specialized SL3 go on Ebay for less than half price in less than a year.

Serotta does take a longer time to sell because most of the buyers don't know about the brand and they tend to just go for one of the big 4.

But you should buy a bike because you like it, it fits you, etc. Buying/selling bikes as a business is hard to profit.
