Because you are all moreons, and that's who we're likely going to play for, I'm looking for feedback/additions to our playlist for an upcoming (mid-May) birthday gig for our drummer.

Because so many of the Loungers are just barely out of diapers, I'm not expecting everyone to know all the songs, but you should be able to get an idea of what we're playing. We are two guitars, bass and drums. We can do keyboards, but have to trade one of the guitars or the drums to do it.

Also, we don't practice all that often, so have mercy on the lead guitarist (me) and keep the shredding to a minimum.

So, with that in mind, what might you add to this list? Just for laughs, an * means I sing it. An * with a ? means we haven't yet decided who'll sing it, but I CAN sing it. We may not do all these, but they're on the list right now. Some titles now modified to get past the filter. Who knew?

Bigger Stones*--The Beat Farmers
Beeyotchin' Time--The United States Three (bonus points for knowing this band)
Break It All*--Los Shakers (bonus points--they're from Uruguay)
Cyrano de Berger's Back--X
Game of Pricks--Jimmy Eat World
Ghosts of Princes in Towers*?--The Rich Kids (bonus)
Girls Talk--Dave Edmunds
He's a Hooer (take that, filter!)--Cheap Trick
Here Comes the Summer--The Undertones
Jailbreak--Thin Lizzy
Jane--Love Nut (bonus points)
July, July--The Decemberists
Just What I Needed--the Cars (I can BARELY get through the solo)
Mrs. Robinson--more like the Lemonheads did it
Ontario*--the Posies
Queen Beeyotch--David Bowie
Queen of Eyes--The Soft Boys
Ready Steady Go*--Generation X
Star Sign*?--Teenage Fanclub (without the super-long intro)
Suspect Device*?--Stiff Little Fingers
Time Will Tell--The Kinks
Time Won't Let Me*--The Smithereens (but in the key of the original Outsiders version)
Twisting*?--They Might Be Giants
What's My Scene*?--Hoodoo Gurus
What Do I Get*--The Buzzcocks
Where Diamonds Are Halos--Sugar

I don't have the nerve to cover a real Bob Mould song, so we're doing one written by Sugar's bass player, David Barbe.

We're considering some Huskers or Bob songs, but it's hard--it's like trying to cover the Beatles, it feels wrong because you know you can't do it justice.

Hmm. Van may be a little vocally demanding for our humble lot. Elvis C is a good choice, though--I think we've mentioned and forgotten him a couple of times. Presidents I don't really know, though I know Kitty. Worth a look-in, anyway. Thanks.
