Are the carbon rails round or oval shaped ?

I am thinking that with oval rails, saddle may not attach properly to the post -- a Specialized S-Works, single bolt model. This post clamps the saddle rails at the rails' sides.

Thoughts?

More oval than square. It's like they took a 8mm diameter tube, cut it lengthwise and added 3 or 4mm to it.

The older version that has the steel insert is round where you clamp the rails.

Seems I will have to stick with the slightly heavier metal-railed Alliante Carbon Twin-flex ... I don't especially want to buy another seatpost, just to fit the saddle.

I weighed the Alliante model mentioned above, and it was 248 g with the scuff guards ... not too bad, would have been nice to have it closer to 200g.
