I bought my first road bike a couple days ago. While riding yesterday, the front shift cable slipped as I shifted from the small ring to the large.

The components are all 105 and double chain rings. My question is since the shifters will work with a double or triple chain ring crank, which 2 do you use for a double or does it matter?

Thanks in advance.

Here is how to set it up. - TF

BTW, you are going to end up with four positions - two for each ring. These are trim positions so that the chain doesn't rub when it is on the different gears on the rear derailleur.
