I am changing the crankset on my brike from the stock Truvativ Elita compact to a Shimano Ultegra SL compact. I know I need to get a new bottom bracket and I was looking on line at the different ones. I was told that I could use either the 6600 Ultegra BB or a 7900 Dura Ace BB but the only difference I could see was the price. Is there a difference between the two and if so, would one be better then the other?

Yes, they are interchangeable. No, you won't notice a difference. The D/A is a little bit lighter and has a longer warranty (3 yrs as opposed to 1 year for the Ultegra). BBs are pretty inexpensive items (essentially a set of bearings with threaded cups, so...

Shimano, as far as I know, uses Endurø bearings in their bottom brackets and I don't know if there is a difference between the grade as used between 5600, 6600, 7800 or 7900.
