That's a Campy, not Shimano, question. I would think that the near-friction left shifter would handle this just fine. - TF

as long as you have all 9 or 10 speed cassette, rear derailluer, and levers of the same speed.

What are you trying to do?

Yeah, it works. I've set up two bikes this way. The Campy shifter actually makes the Shimano F/D work better!

Works fine

You can even do it with a shimano rear hub and cassette though it requires some real attention or finnesse to get the indexing to work well. It's not supposed to work but it does. The front derailleur work wonderfully with the campy shifting, maybe better.
