Forgive me if this has been beaten to death. I couldn't find much about it...

I want to put Campy ergo shifters on my existing shimano 9-speed drivetrain. I'm positive I read an article about doing this somewhere on the 'net. It was simple, just a cable reroute. I cannot find this article now. Does anyone know about this technique?

PS. I'm aware of the JTEK ShiftMate.

TIA, Rob

I have Campy 9 shifters with D/A Wheels and cassette

on my rain bike. I looked at using the Ultegra derailleur I had, but then found I could swap to the Veloce rear derailleur on eBay. So, I have a D/A 9speed hub with an SRAM 9 speed cassette, Ultegra 9 speed chain, Veloce 9 speed derailleur and 9 speed shifters, and to top it off an FSA crankset. Have to love it.

The beauty of it is it shifts great and runs very quiet. The difference between the indexing on the Shimano 9 and the Campy 9 is minimal.

Do a web search on this and you will see several articles on the options to combine Campy shifters with a Shimano drivetrain.

Since I can't afford to replace everything at once, I'm running Campy Mirage 9s shifers with a Shimano Sora rear der. and a Sora 8s cassette. I'm using the alternate cable attachment on the rear der. and it works perfectly. Havn't missed a shift yet.
