Does anyone know the differences, if any, between the Ultegra and Dura Ace press fit BB's. I needed to replace a BB and went in to my local shop to purchase a DA BB and saw the Ultegra on the shelf.

Same weight, same feel and according to the local mechanic the same package just a different color. Are there different bearings? $40 for the Ultegra and $65 for the DA.

I had a customer ask the same question a few weeks ago. I didn't know the answer so I called Shimano directly.

What Shimano says is that the external cup is exactly the same. The internal ball bearings themselves are of higher quality (smoother ground) so that is what makes the DA more expensive than the Ultegra.
