been searching the forums for anyone with experience with these, but
no joy. anyone bother with them or did you just bite-the-bullet and
go to 10speed components? these are supposed to be better than
the sora or tiagra parts.

i'm trying to save my dough for a completely new bike, so in the
meantime, i'd prefer to spend as little as possible keeping the old
war-wagon going. lowest price i could find(apart from e-bay) is
$187 at bikemannetwork.

my current ride is running 8speed dura-ace with down-tube shifters.

Unfortunately your problem lies in the D/A 8 speed that you already have. No other brifters will work with the D/A 8 rear derailleur, only D/A 8.

how about NOS of 7700? i seem to remember someone on the boards saying
that D/A 9 would work the 8spd rear derailluer with no probs; is that true?
