hey, it's a serotta... those that love 'em go apesh!t over 'em. I don't see it as "the perfect messenger bike, foul-weather trainer, <strike>specialty trainer,</strike> or urban commuter". but it is nice... and deserves more than the typical formula-deep v, chopped riser set-up. at $1695 hipsters that would set 'em up that way won't be getting them... seems like it's more for the stereotypical older-rich-guy-with-a-gigantic-prostate serotta lover/collector. btw, how can it be a commuter without fender/rack mounts??
$1695 for a productionl-run, non lugged, one color steel single speed? If you are loyal to the Serotta name maybe.
Otherwise a custom from a local US builder like Strong is $1500/$1700.
I'll choose the latter.
