What does "NOS" mean in reference to bicycle parts? I realize I am demonstrating my ignorance, but I am drawing a blank.

New Old Stock - Basically new parts that are now out of production.

A few standard ebay acronyms:

NIB - New In Box
NOS - New Old Stock
(B)NW[0]T -(brand) New With [out] Tag
OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer -- either 1 ) this is genuine, not aftermarket replacement, or 2 ) this is as it would be supplied to a producer, not a retailer: same item, plain cardboard box, no manuals, etc.

If you wach Trucks on Spike TV,,, when Stacy David built "Project Copperhead", well over half the body panels were NOS...

Thus,, I've heard the term before...
