Hello,

I just bought a new set of shimano SPD-L cleats in yellow (6 degree float) and now that they are installed there is no float, almost like red cleats. Is there something I could have done wrong installing them (overtighten), maybe I got a defective set? Thanks for the advice.

Are your shoes small? I've seen the sole on some small size shoes have a less flat/more curved profile and that can bend the cleat a bit and restrict float. If not...who knows.

Yes they are my wife's shoes and they are a 43. The attachment area does look small. Should I loosen them up a little and see if that removes any possible deformation due to the smaller sole area? I really appreciate the response.

43 should be fine. Loosen them up a bit and see what happens, can't hurt.
