Specialized and Mclaren officially unveiled their new top of the range Venge today in a special press conference at McLaren Headquarters in Woking, England. Just days ahead of the actual race debut of the new frame that will be riden by select members of Team Astana, Saxo-Bank Sunguard, and HTC-Highroad.

The UCI-legal aero road bike Venge, is a new platform for Specialized, and will fill a niche in the Specialized road bike lineup. The Tarmac will still remain the mainstay of the lineup with its combination of stiff and lightness. "The Venge will be a premium option, ideal for certain races and certain racers, based on race-day condition and rider preferences."

The Venge gave Specialized the perfect opportunity to partner with the legendary team at McLaren. With their thirty years of expertise in composite technology and racing at the highest level of F1. They were able to push the existing boundaries of design and engineering. While the S-Works Venge itself exceeded Specialized's expectations, the partnership allowed the two companies to further improve upon the Venge. Over the past year, Specialized and Mclaren engineers employed materials, fabrication processes, and exhaustive layup schedules never before used in the cycling world.

The Venge will be available as two models, S-Works and McLaren. Both will be made in Specialized's production facility in Taiwan.
