I have some Zeros and they are starting to have some play in them and making some click noises. Should I go thru the trouble and replace the bearings or should I buy new ones.

Have you done the grease injection maintenance thing? After you do that, then decide whether to replace the bearings or pedals.

Have you figured out where the play is coming from? And where the noise is coming from? They could be two different things, maybe not even related to the pedals bearings, FWIW.

Been ridin' X2's for years with no bearing problems.
Usually when a little play is felt in the pedal, it is time to flush with grease. After flushing, the play usually decreases or goes away completely.
