Shimano Mountain Pedals # 535 with multi-release cleats
No matter what I do, I cannot silence the left pedal. The squeak comes from the cleat/pedal interface. If I spray WD40 on the springs, It will quiet down for about 15 minutes. At this point, I am thinking of buying new pedals and cleats.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Squeaking pedals are annoying and there's always a tendacy to use some sort of lube to knock it out. Although I have a completely different set up (Time Impact pedals/cleats), I found that WD40 or Tri Flow was a temporary fix that only made it worse later.

What worked for me was to completely clean the interfacing surfaces with rubbing alchohol or mineral spirits......... Just my 2 cents.
