On a Sram 10 speed chain with powerlink.I think someone told me it's not easily detachable.On the 9 speed the link works both ways really slick.Makes it great for cleaning the drivetrain.
Was I given good info or BS from LBS wrench.

The SRAM 10 powerloc is not considered to be reuseable, but it can be removed if the roller are squeezed together with enough force. This require Park's chain pliers or a homemade substitute. I filed down the ends of a some cheap needle nose pliers to do the job. If the link doesn;t have any snap to it when rejoined, replace it.
