What's the thought on SRAM Apex? Compared to 105 specifically, regarding quality of shifting, durability, etc.

I'm considering a bike with it and saw it for the first time today. My thoughts on double tap aside, if felt a little cheaper, or more plastic-y, or something, than the 105 I'm used to, so I'm wondering what others' opinions are.

I tried searching as I'm sure there are threads on this but either this site has the most poorly designed search function ever or I'm a little special (or a little of both).
