I tried removing a Sram Force 22 BB30 crankset to clean and inspect BB and something broke. Can I just replace the self extracting crank bolt here or is this something more and need to buy a new crank? Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like the outer cap was not removed, which might explain the appearance of the bolt. The crank should be fine, but need to be inspected. Check with SRAM for these replacements.

I'm no SRAM expert, but I believe that outer cap needs to remain in place to serve as a shoulder for the captive hex bolt to push against to self-extract the crank. ISIS and a number of later years of square taper cranks used a similar self-extraction system, thus mitigating the need for a separate crank puller tool.

To the OP, as nova_rider suggests, you clearly need to see if you can source a replacement hex bolt and perhaps the outer cap.

An FSA Crankbolt has the same design, if needed in a pinch.
