St 6700 shifters & derailleur cable routing

I've just switched from the old shimano 600 shifters to the new St 6700 sti shifters. These, as you know, have two options for routing the derailleur cable. You can go either straight back to wrap behind the handlebar or use the angled port to wrap the cable in front with the brake cable.
The front seems more reasonable since my bar already has the cable groove but I heard that Shimano recommends the striaght port and a rear wrap.

What do you folks think?

Thanks for any help-

Route the brake cable normally - IE around the front of the bar and run the shifter cables around the rear of the bar, keeping both low. This will make a nice clean look, and keep the sides/upper of the bar clear for comfortable hands.
