Not really the first "mountain" stage but what do you guys think is going to happen? The last mountain is 50km from the finish, do the sprinters catch up or is this a break away with all the G.C's in it finishing together?

The last 42.5 km are all down hill. Boonen wins the stage in the sprint... :)

T-Mob sends Eddy Mazzoleni out on a break away so Phonak will have to work again.

Edit: Jérôme Pineau will go up the road to solidify his KOM lead and T-Mob will send Eddy Mazzoleni with him so Phonak will have to work again.

Hincaipe may be able to salvage his poor TT by sticking with the climbers and outsprinting them for the stage.
Even with Valverde out there are some reasonably good climbers with finishing kicks at least on par with Hincapie (e.g. Garzelli, Perdiguero, Cunego). If they don't ride the climbs hard enough they're liable to end with Friere or even Boonen with them!

I think it's a perfect stage for a breakaway to survive. Good day for somebody like Voigt.

Too bad it isn't 'straight downhill' after the last climb, if it was, Savoldelli (DSC) could gain 1-2 minutes on the leaders if he managed to stick with the climbers (and I think he could with it being a cat 1). But it looks like there are several fasle flats where he won't have any advantage.
