Over the weekend I took a spill on the trails, and ended up bruising my ribs. (That is my unprofessional diagnosis, based on previous experience and the nature of the pain.)

Wednesday is a running day, I was going to do the treadmill at lunch, but the bouncing made my ribs hurt too much. So I did the stairmaster instead.

I was actually pleasantly surprised. I found it easily got my heart rate up, and I thought, here is an indoor exercise that actually might transfer to both cycling and trail running. I made a point of not grabbing the bars, so there was some element of balance going on.

Anyway, I thought I'd throw this out there for the exercise physiologist types out there; pros and cons of stairmaster?
