After twenty bazillion transfers from Paris, being awake for 24+ hrs and a very short night of sleep, my cuz gets me out on the Orange Peelz Tuesday night world championships.... umm, can I have an extra lung please? I haven't felt that bad or weak on a bike in a loooong time -- when the ride ramped up, I got the full on tunnel vision, hypoxia and nausea ... non-acclimation is a b!tch. Oh, and then the skies let loose - rain, thunder lightning and just a hint of hail.... welcome to CO! Atleast we had a nice rainbow on the way back.

Ask the locals for the secret oxygen drink. Coloradans are the only ones with the formula. Enjoy your stay!

Hey, I agree.... I just wish they could pipe in a little extra oxygen up here!! How hard would that be?? :)
We use the lack of oxygen to make it easy to identify the locals from the visitors.... of course with the pink kit it's not a problem for you. :D

Wait until you get above 9000 feet. Not to mention 10,000 feet! And if you get to 11? OY!

Here's what helps me as a flatlander. I start breathing like a locomotive at the START of any climb. That should keep you from death's door at least, though people will think you are dying.

Enjoy the hallucinations :)

That's what happens when you try to keep up with the guy on your right. It has nothing to do with the altitude. :)

Name drop to my boss if you see him, I've been putting people up to it lately with great success. Glad you're well. Missed you in France this year, just gonna come ride, no Tour, just relax.
