How does the lineup of steel tubing compare as far as ride performance. I was looking at a Lemond with the OX platinum tubing. I had a Tommasini with 853 before, does it compare at all to that? I tested the Lemond on a short road trip and it seemed real nice but I didn't take it on a long ride.

Ox Platinum and 853 are often incorporated into the same frame so I imagine they have some complementary attributes.

If the bike is designed well and fits, you're going to have a satisfactory experience regardless of the tubing. Weight is the main consideration these days between many of the offerings, and even that is a nit.

110 psi, a good saddle and a set of tires on a well built steel frame is about all you should ask for in a fine bike.
