I had some brazing done on a couple of my bikes. I don't want to paint them right now. I read that primer only will not prevent rust. What's the best way to treat the metal to prevent rust without painting? Recommended products? Thanks.

Renaissance Wax -- used on antique swords and firearms to prevent rust:

Probably a nightmare to get off when you're ready to paint, but something to consider.

Tung oil and a rough pad. You can leave the steel raw/unpainted and do it once a month or so to remove any oxidation. A real rust issue would only be of concern if it went for a long period of time without any sort of upkeep. Leaving it as is, it would first develop a hazy coat which the oil would remove. This does no damage to your frame. Bikes finished with a patina rather than paint are kept up this way.

Or hit it with some Rustoleum, and when you're ready to paint it, sandblast it off.

How about just some spray can clear if you like the look of the bare metal. Otherwise, depending upon the color it may not be too difficult to find a spray can color pretty close.
