This is a hard to phrase question... Does effective stem length change with rise angles? ie, assuming the bars are kept at a constant height (relative to the ground, say), is a 90 degree 120 mm stem "shorter" than a -10 degree 120 mm stem? My limited knowledge of geometry suggests this would be the case - but how much does length change relative to rise, assuming the c-t-c distance is kept constant?

Stem Rise

Analysis shows that stem length can be increased by at least 1.3cm for each 1cm of height increase and not change the torso angle.

Saw this some time ago and kep it in my "maybe one day" file. This is the day!!
