A few of us are going to stitch together a "mini TDF" this Sunday (July 27),
It will contain 5 stages in appox 40 miles.

3 points possible for every stage.
Winner=3 pts, Second=2, 3rd=1

Stage 1: climb Page Mill (our Alpe d'Huez)
Stage 2: Page Mill - 84 (first to the stop sign). Simulates stage 5, fast and flat.
Stage 3: Descend 84. simulates stage 16, Cuneo-Jausiers with the gnarly descent
"Rest day": regroup and ride out to Canada road
Stage 4: Individual time trial. Starting at the intersection of Edgewood and Canada, TT out to the end, time ends at the barrier set up by the Park Rangers. - we can go out in 30 sec increments. Time yourself
Stage 5: Mass time trial. Haul ass back, doing the reverse route. Drafting legal. End in a sprint to finish. Possible of 15 points.

It would be sweet to get a big group to do this.
We will be meeting at 8:45AM, Sunday, at the corner of Page Mill and Foot Hill.
I'll be on a Cervelo R3.
Let me know if you are interested!

Point definitely well taken. In fact, on the way down, we saw a guy who seemed to have gone over the guard rail; he was thankfully ok.

But there were just 4 of us and the nutball that won the stage descends fast all the time.
I have 2 kids which keeps my descending pretty conservative.

LOL. That's the one section we DIDN'T time. It was a given that crazy Eliott would win it.
Page Mill, starting at junction of Arastradeo to the top stop sign was 41:53.
Page Mill to Alice's Restaurant: 16:41
Canada road TT from Edgewood sign to turn around (where the water station is) was 10:19 (big headwind).
Canada road back: 8:37

Those were the winning times.
