Interesting. I wish them luck.

I'm just barely old enough to remember riding on some SunTour stuff back in the late '80s. Liked it.

My first bike was a KHS built with Superb Pro parts. I loved that bike, except for their brakes. They blew. Their new stuff looks very retro, which is odd since they were a company that tried to look cutting edge back then. I think the cranks will be popular with the fixie crowd. Curious about the short cassette hub. Is it supposed to work on 126mm frames?

I had a Schwinn hybrid/trail bike back in the mid-'90s with Suntour components....she was a really good bike.

Wondering what else/if they're going to expand the range in that direction.

It's cooler than that silly OEM stuff they regressed to recently, just a matter if the market is actually there. Velo Orange seems to cover everything with the retro bits. All Suntour has is "remember us?".

Not the same Suntour. The original Suntour went away. New Suntour is, I believe, owned by SunRace. SunXCD is being started by the original owner of Suntour.

The Superbe Pro ensemble rocked!

By the way, when did it change from " ensemble " to " groupo " ?
lol @ ensemble. And I thought "groupo" and "groupset" were the silliest terms I'd heard...

Yah... but what else are you going to call it? A Dura Ace 'set'? A Super Record 'range'?

There's just a real lack of good words for it. 'Group' wins almost by default.

Yes, it did. My first road bike an early '80s Centurion Pro (frame was actually made by Cinelli) had Superbe Pro on it. I still have the frame. :D

When did it change from groupo to ensemble? I grew up knowing them as groupos.

Line? That's the term used in most other industries.
Doesn't quite work here.

Ever seen an ad that said, "Complete Dura Ace line, now on sale, just $1695!" ?? :confused5:

'Group' or 'groupset' are probably the least annoying commonly-used terms, for better or worse.

'Ensemble' has the virtue of being hilarious, though.
