I can totally see myself getting into this. Inspired by the cute little girl making pictures with Windows Live Photo I decided I had to check out the pano stitch. Gotta say I am pretty impressed. The following was done with handheld shots on a hike. The left side ended up a lot better than the right and my sister's head got cut off, but some practice and my tripod should make these a bit better.

There ya have it.

It's pretty impressive for being handheld.

Some tips for shooting panos, even though that's not my thing: use a tripod, make sure it's level, use a focal length with little distortion (no wide angles), make sure your focusing is consistent across every shot (either using the same focus distance or focusing on the same object), and use the same exposure for every shot (which means using manual mode).
